Title, Jack, and Big Boy Scars

Last night daddy asked the boys if they wanted to carve a pumpkin and didn't get much of a response. I think they wanted to see the gooey insides, and that was about it. Once they found out there was stringy, mushy stuff with seeds stuck all over it, their fascination with it was over. That's okay, daddy was more into it than they were. He finished the "Scary Jack" and roasted the pumpkin seeds, which turned out a little oily and a little over done, but hey, I still ate them.

I don't know if anyone noticed but the blog title changed. I just wasn't happy with plain text, any photos I've taken this year, or a combination of both. So I decided the best thing to do would be to design and draw it myself. It only took about an hour total to sketch, outline in pen, then color. I'm happy with it (for now), but knowing me, change will happen in a few months once I tire of looking at the same thing over and over. If you haven't already scrolled up, take a look below.

And lastly, big boy scars. My youngest, Liam, has a big boy scar down the center of his chest. He had his second open heart surgery almost two years ago. It's a big anniversary, that comes with a lot of relief now that we are two years out. I know that it will never be over, but I can relax a little more each day. There is a lot of pain in my own heart that such a young soul has had to endure all that he has. On the official anniversary I will have a complete write up with previous pictures, but for now I wanted to show off his beautiful big boy scar.

Have a great end to your week, I'll be back in a day or two.
