Standish-Hickey Camping Trip:: Round 2:: With the Golds

This was our second year to Standish-Hickey in Leggett, Ca. We went last year, around the same time, with the same family (the Golds), but last year there was one less person. This year we had a new addition to the group, making us 8 all together (two families of 4). Meet baby Serena:

She looks like a sweet cherub in the picture above, doesn't she?

We camped for two nights, with one full day and two half days (check in day, and check out day). Between both families we have an almost 7 year old (Aiden, boy, mine), a 4.5 year old (Liam, boy, mine), Reya (3 year old, girl, Golds), and baby Serena (2.5 months!, girl, Golds). They are a brave family to go camping with a 2 month old. I waited for Aiden to be two before we went camping, because I knew it would be hard.

We spent the full day almost solely on the river. We were a little put off that the clouds rolled on and the wind began to blow, but 30 minutes later and it was sunny again. It hovered around 80 degrees, but would have been a bit nicer at 90 degrees, I think. It was good for baby Serena though. She had a little canopy, which shielded her from the sun most of the day, but at least she came out for a little pool action with mama.

Lu floated down the river by himself, just around the bend, and then again with both boys. He looked relaxed and like it was just what he needed. Can you tell? See that smile? Yeah, I think he's pretty blissed out...
And of course, back at camp there was lots of toy playing and fun.

We had tons of fun, and I can't wait to do it next year, but maybe at a different spot. Thank you Golds for camping with us and creating memories.
